How excited am I with the upcoming release of my new novel, RABID HEART in less than a month? PRETTY F-ING EXCITED! I hear pre-orders are rolling in (THANK YOU ALL) and I just did an interview/"Author Spotlight" for Publisher's Weekly.
Moreover, the advance praise from two of my favorite. bestselling authors has me over-the-moon!
Check this out:
'Zombies and the end of days don't stand a chance against true love. Jeremy Wagner's RABID HEART is good, clean apocalyptic fun.'
- ALMA KATSU, author of THE HUNGER
'Just when you think you've heard every love story, along comes RABID HEART. My man Jeremy Wagner proves once again he's as much of a wild man with words as he is with his guitar. This book is sick and sweet, and I say that with respect!'
- PETER BLAUNER NY Times bestselling author of THE INTRUDER and SUNRISE HIGHWAY
With my new novel, I tried some new things that came to me as the story tok on it's own life. For example, I always wanted to write a story with a strong female protagonist. I was raised by strong women and I have strong women around me now. To that end, I did it this time with the main character in RABID HEART, Rhonda Driscoll—she’s made up of bits of actual women I’ve had the pleasure to know—those with strong hearts and who don’t take shit from anyone.
Moreover, I’m a horror fiction kid, and I’ve always written about scary things and really dark, f-ed up things. The world I set Rhonda Driscoll in is a culmination of apocalyptic tales that have gotten under my skin and inspired this story in their own way, like, Cormac McCarthy’s, “The Road.” Richard Matheson’s, “I Am Legend,” and even flicks like “28 Days Later” and Romero’s “Day of the Dead.” You get the idea.
RABID HEART is a dark-yet-fun ride, I think. I hope everyone will buckle in and enjoy it all.
